Hi, I’m Shawnte. As a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT), Intuitive Guide, and certified Reiki Master Teacher and Practioner. I’m here to guide you on a path to wellness that brings together body, mind, and spirit. I am here to partner with you. I will meet you where you are as I hold up the mirror allowing you to find connection to yourself, desires and your environment. I do not believe in cookie cutter wellness programs. Together we will partner and use our intuition to help you find change in the way that truly serves you!
After the birth of my now teen, I was struggling with unhappiness, chronic pain, and seeking to improve my quality of life. After spending a year navigating postpartum challenges, I knew I needed to make a change. I wanted to feel empowered and take control of my own healing—and that’s when I found yoga. When I first began yoga, I didn’t think I knew much about it, but along the way, I realized it has always been with me. Taking classes consistently, developing my own home yoga practice and learning to meditate helped me gain confidence in my abilities, enhancing how I show up in the world.
My passion for holistic wellness has led me to share yoga across diverse settings, including schools, businesses, public studios, and private venues to name a few.
Prior to teaching yoga I served within the child welfare system, provided mental health services to youth, provided resources to those impacted by their socio and economic status, and educated individuals with chronic illnesses and diseases. Working in non profits was often taxing on me mentally and emotionally. Leading to the onset of my NEED to practice yoga and mindfulness. This has strengthened my desire to work with nonprofits and small businesses to create Employee Wellness Programs, emphasizing mental health, work-life balance, and team building. Today, I offer private experiences, intuitive guidance coaching, and community yoga to help others find the tools they need to live more fulfilled lives.
My involvements with both yoga and Reiki started as a way to deepen my own practice and add value to my life. They were each an attempt to help me holistically approach my overall wellness and strengthen my ability to be present for my family and friends. I am grateful for each of my teachers who shared their lineage of practices to help me become the healer I am today.
In addition to teaching, I love being outdoors—whether it’s camping, hiking, or enjoying beach yoga. My kids are my greatest joy, and I spend much of my time cheering them on in their activities alongside my loving and supportive husband. I cherish live music, peaceful coffee walks with friends, and all the little moments that bring balance to life.
